Dear oh dear.  The investigation had better be quick.

I'm still not sure what to make of all this.

Why is it just QEII, is it because this particular parent has children there, or is there actually an issue with the leadership?

I'll reserve judgement for the report but I agree it needs to be expeditious.

I doubt that IoMG could have made a worse mess of this if they'd tried to do so intentionally.

Why are they going to report malicious accusations and comments to the police?  Is that a crime?  Have there been any malicious accusations and comments that amount to a crime?

Nothing makes it look like a whitewash or a sweep under the carpet job more than a "keep quiet or the police will knock on your door" message!

To quote an apt, but offensive homily "they could f*** up a brand new c***."

All we've done is to sexualise childhood and rob kids of that essential childhood innocence and healthy emotional development.

Is this before or after most parents look at an innocent boy and girl playing together, aged four and go "Ohh....is THAT your boyfriend. Is THAT your BOYFRIEND. Awww, look at him also, he's a right little ladies man. Gonna grow up to be a right little ladies man he is. OHHHH she playing with her dolly, is that your baby, IS THAT YOUR BABY, aww they playing mummy and daddy. Awww right little ladies man. Gonna give your girlfriend a kiss". I suppose you are okay with that type of sexualisation of kids?

There isn't anything wrong in this age with teaching kids about safe sex and what sex is. Kids have ready access to porn via the internet and teenagers aren't exactly renowned for NOT having sex. Kids are not being sexualised by teaching them sex education. Times change and thus strategies have to change. This isn't the 1840s or whenever you were born, bare ankles and slightly exposed shoulders aren't the only thing you have to worry about now. Kids have ready access to pornography, most kids now have smartphones, it isn't hard to do the math and realise that you have to do SOMETHING to ensure they stay safe and educated.

My mum explained the birds and bees to me when I was ten, I knew of gay relationships much younger as my aunt is gay. If anything, it made me a more rounded human being as it gave me a deeper understanding of what actually goes on in the world and made me a more accepting person of it.

If you had bothered to read the actual guidelines set out for sex education, you would know that most of the claims being made are absolute twaddle. There are people on the island, contractors who were working in the school at the time, who have confirmed (albeit not in an official capacity as they are not Dept Ed) that there was no drag queen present in the class.

As for the child being sent out of the room, until the report is released, NO ONE except those involved know for sure what happened. The child could have been disruptive or could have been trying to deliberately cause an argument. It's not out of the realm of possibility if their parent is one of the anti LGBTQIA+ bellends. Whether the teacher or the pupil was in the wrong can not be known until the report is released.

What you might find interesting to learn however is that a lot of the parents who are making all this noise are members of a certain cult that will remain nameless. But, are infamous for utter empiric levels of BS when it comes to things that go against their pokey little book.

Until that report is released, most people are just clutching at straws based on the good old reliable source of "some bloke down the pub".

'most parents' I know, having raised 5 kids and met quite a few, don't talk to their kids like you assume they do.

This whole situation is absurd.

Like, I know things are often absurd, but this is really something. The old simpsons meme seems in this case not to be true, no one seems to be. Sides are picked, lines are drawn, shields are up from our supposedly more progressive part of society, church nutters should just sod off, those who really want our kids just to be kids are left baffled.

Absurd.

Nothing, absolutely nothing about this story is in any way good.

It appears concerns were raised by Feb 15th. Into March and we're still no wiser what went on. Ridiculous.

Totally off topic but it has put me in mind of one of my pet hates.

Parents ( invariably mothers) talking to their babies/toddlers in supermarkets in a similar wimpy  tone of voice, discussing the various products on the shelves with their offspring ( most of whom haven’t got a clue what they are talking about) . Perhaps even waving said products in front of the baby’s face.

And then looking round to see how cute their fellow shoppers think that is.

Sorry about that

Good for brain development for the baby.

Hilariously someone who dresses up and emulates the 1800s (I'm sure there must be a term for them) set up an Only Fans page as a joke for saucy and depraved ankle photos.  It turned out to be remarkably popular.

Huzzah!
