Shake me up Judy
The Stormont Assembly in Northern Ireland came together today to formally apologise to the victims of historical child abuse in Christian run care homes in the province. Hard to listen to some of what went on, and yet another reminder that the Church, children and sex don't mix. Presuming the parents are aware of sexual matters themselves of course.

Is this hyperbole? Or are they teaching safe fisting in schools? On a humorous note, my dear old mother used to shake her fist at us young tearaways shouting "mess my garden up again and I'll fist the lot of you" She stopped doing that when we explained exactly what fisting was... Teachers, who don't feel it appropriate to teach these lessons, are being told they must do so? If you're not bothered then you're just weired and I'm guessing don't have kids. I'm supportive of appropriate education on sexual and relationship matters, but the ages involved and the content do not align 5

For children of that age, is it not enough to explain that there are different family set ups, and all are loving, valid and normal etc.? That content may be more appropriate for secondary school children, even then I am not so sure. Did they get the key stage wrong? 1

I may be an old prude, but teaching 12 year olds about anal sex seems a bit much. It may be OK for 16 + students but not 12 year olds.

My young fella is year 7, that's 11/12yr olds, he's still a kid, i'd prefer them to wait a few years please.
