BTW is this more or less dangerous than patrolling the TT? Where are Gilbert and Sullivan when you need them?
Nickelcar
Hmmm, sounds a bit exaggerated to me mate.

Speckled Frost
Glad their not MP3s. You'd want them concentrating on the job at hand rather than listening to music.

Slim
From an equally un-reliable source (iomonline) POLICE ATTEND RAMSEY 'STAND-OFF' A SIEGE is taking place in Ramsey. Police and paramedics were called to an address in St Paul's Square at 9am today (Thursday) amid 'concerns for the well-being' of a man. Inspector Derek Flint said that due to a threat to the safety of paramedics and police officers, they withdrew and a stand-off developed. A trained police negotiatior and specialists from the firearms and public order units were deployed. They are still surrounding an apartment building. Inspector Flint said there was no concern for the welfare of anyone else and police were hopeful of a peaceful outcome. It's not known if the man is armed. nipper
This isn't the first time this has happened in Ramsey. It was certainly less than 10 years ago that there was a bloke held up his family with a ceremonial sword.
