30% increase in electricity prices

It's not a question of this rise, the reasons for which are well documented - it needs to be remembered why we're paying the sort of price that we are before this rise.

Add your "Toilet Tax" on to your annual electricity bill too...

£267 last quarter, £483 this quarter.

It’s affecting everyone, large incomes, middle incomes and no incomes. Granted some of those on benefits will be given financial help, those who work and receive lesser wages or salaries will have less money, their income will be squeezed by either rent, mortgage and utilities. Not forgetting other bills, mobile, internet and television subscription. It’s a shame that savings in other areas couldn’t have been made within IOMG to try and weather this period of turbulence.

GET THE GAS OUT. Time to for COMIN/ Govt to stop fucking about trying to please the eco warriors who want to bankrupt the island and its residents by reducing miniscule emissions by 40pc, without a realistic plan of how to do it (other than putting another interconnector in so that we're still fucked buying energy at market rate)

It has not been a great couple of years for government to make savings.

True, but it hasn’t stopped them consistently recruiting and increasing the never ending public sector/civil servant headcount. I’m sure there are savings that could be made, but it’s whether there is the stomach to do it.

Yes it is.

Indeed, particularly for those on low and fixed incomes. But when one's pocket is generously filled from the public trough that's easily overlooked.

I'm not sure what everyone expected to happen. We use pretty much 100% gas. Gas has more than doubled in price. Where do people imagine that money is going to come from.

Moving back then - or does Cornwall still outstrip the island in every fucking thing you have to bloody mention?

Maybe in a few years. Was hoping the Golf Links development would go ahead, would have been ideal.
