Rising lease costs plus possible plans for fast food type outlet on the ground floor seems to be the decision maker, a shame to see it go 😒 Been racking my brain to recall who occupied those premises before Peter Luis. Any ideas, anyone?

James Lay’s? May 1940 fire. Others from 1930 and 1970. Think the change to Peter Luis was 1974/5? Later research. Jimmy Lay from 1865, James Lay Ltd from 1907 to 1973 in Douglas. It lingered on in Ramsey for another 28 years. Peter Luis from October 1973 to 2013 1

If we were to follow your 'logic', the real answer answer should presumably have been "absence of Thatcher" as being at the root of the problems, which indeed it was.

jackwhite
Couple of things I've heard today. Co-working area that was Chamber and Eagle Lab have a new home. Kerroo Brewing (craft beer brewery in Port Erin) hoping they will be operational just after Christmas. Latter is in their newsletter, so may already have been mentioned somewhere.
