Never been there but I am sure it will have been on a par with other Chinese takeaways on the island, as in, not as good as the ones you find in the UK

As in, they are all the same.
All up Robinsons buying the same readymade sauce,  the only difference is the amount of msg being used.

The spring rolls from most of them are  the frozen ones  from Robinsons..

Same with the samosa  from most Curry houses.

Spar has much better ones:-) in the ready to eat section.

The "caramel" is also known as gravy browning, I am wondering just what stale bread would bring to a brew ?, not sugar or hops, no malted grain at all, just maybe,a poor source of yeast, which to be honest isn't expensive .

IMHO it sounds like a gimmick.

Yes it's the starch, but that has to be broken down to simple carbohydrates for the yeast to be able to utilise it. You can do this by either adding enzymes or adding Malt

Yep, I got a bag of them in my freezer, they are good but I'm not paying a fiver for a couple of them.

Same with the dumplings / siu mai etc..I got myself a steamer and the frozen  ones from robinson are the same stuff you get in most of the Chinese places..

City Cottage was good there until the original owners moved on.

Don't think I have enjoyed a Chinese takeaway over here since.

Not exactly Chinese but more of a pan Asian..Bonsai at 7 kingdom's ( near tesco ) used to be quite nice .

They have now moved to the Sefton afaik ..I dont know how the food is these days .

Used to go to City Cottage fairly regularly. When they closed I moved on the the Majestic when it was in Onchan and now I’m very happy with China Town.
