It’s more of a food place now, shut Monday & Tuesday & some afternoon

For someone who pretends to live in Braddan, and work in a bank, your knowledge of the drinking habits of the indigent, and the hostelries of Port Erin is in the Mastermind “specialised knowledge round” class

Bowler closing throws up the possibility of that entire site being under one owner for redevelopment, it was kind of in the way.

It makes sense the Bowler is just about the biggest loser pub in the IOM. It can’t possibly make any money and another quarter of an acre on that huge empty site must be worth a fair few quid now.

They should never have knocked down the entertainment hall that joined onto the Bowler

No doubt placing covenants on them so nobody can make a success where they continually fail...

They can't do that due to the new licensing laws.

Most of these rumours probably accurate. From what I've heard of the 34 places they have only 10 are not for sale. Which 10 I don't know.

It's open tonight, which is a Tuesday...

He’s right about the food though. There is a tatty photocopied sign on the door telling you wait to be seated.

Not sure why anyone would choose a brewery pub for food, although the rumour is they are trying hard at the Colby.

Quite often can't get in at the Station. Very popular. Same as the George in Castletown.

The George has a very good new menu I noticed last week. Still has some brewery classics like dried up steak pie. But the rest seemed way off from usual Brewery and the quality is good.
