I thought the guy that owned it, Raj, had taken over and done it up and the Italian boys were now running it or him.

Surely, by this point, if he's at the door offering to help you with your business then you lock the doors, switch the lights off and pretend to be closed. He's not exactly got the fucking Midas touch, has he?

But £800k of debt is a bit weird for a law firm.

Did they get any fines from the FSA for not ticking the right box?

Or maybe some compensation claim?  Outstanding VAT/PAYE/taxes due?

I’m pretty sure someone told me they owed a few hundred thousand to ITD.

He’s an avid reader of these forums, shh

Hopefully. His dad grew up in Mona Street and did exceedingly well for himself. James went to KYC and many interactions people would have had with him would likely be negative borne of his personal sense of self entitlement.

I don't think there is anything new in that report, it doesn't explain how the debts arose or how the directors or the askrow depositors  were protected?

It does show that James couldn't afford a nice white shirt!!!

I would imagine that the debts will relate to the business office account and not the client account. There are very strict rules about use of client account money in law firms and any abuse is potentially a strike off and possiby jail time
