Gladys
56 minutes ago, WTF said: will the robinsons staff in shoprite get made redundant and then rehired by tesco to continue to deal with fruit and veg that tesco have bought over or are they all shoprite staff that just wear robinsons clothing to identify their department? Suspect they are Robinsons' staff. When fish or veg is reduced the sticker is a different one to that used for other stock in Shoprite, which indicates it is accounted for differently at the tills. Possibly a lease or franchise arrangement?

Sometimes we buy the Sainsbury's pre packed salmon as it's fresher.

Not interested in that Mollenburg stuff. Just plain white sliced loaf. Co op doesn’t sell anything to compete. Shoprite sells Kingsmill which is ok. Tescos sell Hovis which is the least worst. I don't...and especially not their doughy white loaves. Think that both the standard and variations of bread brands has improved generally since. Bargains to be had on bread here and there. Two-lane
There is nothing quite like the aroma of freshly baked bread. Whenever I walked by Ramsey Bakery I didn't smell a thing.

It’s not as good though, and the real impact to the flour mill and the farmers hasn’t kicked in yet.

They are really good. I miss Mollenburg and the odd slice of pasty, but not much else.
CallMeCurious
Certainly don't miss finding a lump of crust baked inside the bread when they had recycled some of the stale loaves back into a new batch. Priced themselves out of the market IMHO.
