What?

A decent sit in  pizza place would be very welcome.

( In Ramsey) . Yes it would  Ravioli House doesn’t really do it.

Re Douglas I have been in both La Piazza and Just Pizza and Pasta of   late.

I would say in both food and service La Piazza just shades it over JP & P.

Where La Piazza wins hands down is the ambience. It’s just a more relaxed environment. Less kids on their mobile phones. You feel more inclined to take your time over your meal rather than it just being a pit stop for something to eat and then move on.

But these are the thoughts of a man in his sixties. If I was a callow youth I may prefer J P & P. Different demographics etc.

Well I get what you’re saying but I’m just about 70 and I think the ambience in JP&P is streets ahead of La Piazza but maybe because it’s quieter you prefer it. JP&P to me is more like a traditional Italian with great food and  a buzz  about it.

Well I guess it may depend on which time of day you go.

I too get what you’re saying and having visited Italy several times both in cities and country areas,a good trattoria with the buzz is a great experience.

Pretty hard to replicate in the IOM though!

Mona Lisa in Laxey is usually worth a visit

Yes I agree as unless there’s Italians in bringing their flamboyance to the party it will never meet those dizzy heights. I too have visited and eaten in many Trattoria in Italy and it’s a joy to be in that atmosphere . Unless you’re wanting a quiet reflective night lol.
Not been to Mona Lisa for ages but must do . Maybe a bus trip down as have to sample the wine along with the food. I actually pass the place pretty much everyday currently as doing some voluntary work just up the road . Will let you know what I think when I do.

Do that. Only problem with ML if you’re having a drink is to struggle up the hill with a full belly to catch the bus!
