Nah, landlords have been done for even trying to circumvent through foreign channels. You can, but under the law you shouldn't

They probably can.  But anyway the onus is really on you to prove such a thing is illegal rather than the other way round.  That's the way law usually works.

As the article slinky helpfully linked to explains, the action taken against a pub landlord in the UK was a civil matter, so the police would have no ability to arrest someone here.  The PL would have to take out a civil prosecution on copyright grounds.
