A beach front cafe behind a big wall so you can't see the sea or the cafe from the road is a stupid idea only an old person could have come up with.

It was built for the bowling green and I assume the big wall is to protect the green & cafe from the huge winter waves. The cafe is always extremely busy mostly with older clientele but many others including myself when walking in peel.

The building is falling apart and the tennis courts are rarely used , in fact never seen anyone using them

I think the clue is in the name FFS

You can’t see the sea from the swimming pool cafe either.

The branding is changing this week

The prices haven't though. Still uncompetitive. Do you think that any one who buys a car from them must have money to burn or be a bit dim..

Went for a test drive last week. Seriously looking at buying the car. Can actually get the car 20% cheaper in the UK.

It's convenient to just get the car here on the Island. But not for that cost.

Did you put in an offer ? .

Put in an offer and be prepared to walk away.

. Ignore all the upselling they try to do ( paint / tyre  protection etc ) ..

I suppose it depends on their targets/ model/ make of car etc  but I've managed to get cars fairly close what it would have cost me to buy in the UK and bring it  over here..

Use  a website like carwow   where dealers in the UK compete for your requirements .. Use the quote from the cheapest one for your negotiation.

If they don't agree to UK quotes + a reasonable  extra cost,  get it from the UK dealer.

Sister looked at and test drove a car there advertised as a 2022 model - noted the chassis number from the windscreen - a quick Google search revealed it to be a 2020 model but first registered in 2022 - purchased a genuine 2022 one on Island for £4k less.

Go to someone like skillen & naylor who will source a car to you requirements, bring over, arrange tax etc and their charges are reasonable for the experience

No. Have you? Looks interesting.

Went to Chengdu Impressions with friends yesterday. Level entry/exit gets a thumbs up from me, big spaces between tables and for route to the loos. Even better.

They seem to be doing a buffet on Friday evenings, as well as a la carte.

Several items ( the big fish speciality dishes ) have to be ordered 24 hours in advance. Other items weren’t available.

we had dumplings for starters. In a soup, with red chilli oil, and dry with chilli. There wasn’t much heat, think they’ve adapted chilli level to Manx taste buds.

mains, we had pork and the Szechuan special. Special could have served 4! Again not as hot as expected. The special had off cuts of pork and chicken lots of different veggies, and lots of slices of spam. It was better than that sounds. Accompanied by boiled rice.

Washed down with Chinese green tea.

£80 including tip.

2 of us, a table of 6, table of 4 and a lone diner. That was from 19.00 to closing time 21.30. There were more staff than customers, most of the time.

Enjoyable evening. Good food. Definitely not your standard UK Chinese. They need more custom than that to survive.

Menu hard to read, it’s shiny and print font is about 8 point.

Thanks John. Any sign of BYO being a thing?
