mollag
Many moons ago, the Rev Fred Cubbon helped young men to start their own businesses, often they had "and Cubbon" in the firm title, Easthope and Cubbon I think was one, I'm wondering if Quine and Cubbon was one 🤔

According to their own website: Quine & Cubbon Printers was first established as a partnership in 1933 in Port Erin by Douglas (Paddy) Quine and Alfie Cubbon, whose son Marshall became curator of the Manx Museum. The partnership continued there throughout the war years, run by Alfie, as Paddy was involved with the Navy. So there doesn't seem to be a link with the other Cubbons.

I would guess that the leaseholders will not be renewing the lease, whenever. Assuming they ever had one, they must have handed it back as according to 3FM, it's now up for lease again. Apparently: Proposals should include: Rental in the region of £4,800 plus VAT per annum Sample menus with prices Proposed opening hours Any previous experience in catering or event management The number of staff to be employed which rent is the same as originally required (despite 3FM thinking it a reduction - no one has ever explained to them what "+ VAT" means). The requirements are rather less flowery than previous though.

Kopek
Well the Foxgloves will have died off by this time of the year😁 It would take a special type of person to make a go of this place. Spring/summer would be OK but winter??? Needs someone who can make a mean chocolate cake and Guacamole for the smash on toast! Know anyone?
Kopek
A rustic wrap or 'pancake' as some might call them, sealed on the grill, would go down well in 'cool' weather, as would hearty soups for hardy travellers!!! Still, winter hours would have to be optional and the rent would have to reflect that!!! 6k!!! No thanks!
