Well here it is....

Biosphere, walking, cycling, heritage, culture, seas, TT, coastline countryside, seas....

Bugger me, more of the same dull as dishwater crap by the looks of things. Without the combined c.65,000 potential TT and MGP visitors, we are just a crap as we ever were. Where are the attractions which will bring young visitors here, who would continue to be loyal advocates of the island? We have nothing, and it looks like we will never have anything.

I'll read it closely but have no real hopes for a visitor boom!

225 food and drink establishments. The way costs to these businesses are going through the roof, I'd like to see just how many there are by the end of the year

No details on how they arrived at the pie in the sky figures? At least they finally acknowledge that cost of transport is a huge barrier to tourism.

Can't find the workings out on the 500k

Unless we come up with something like the Oresund bridge we'll never shake off the transport issues.

Legalise cannabis and decriminalise all other drugs. That would sort out the tourist industry and put more money in the coffers.

and as we are in hock to the packet for what, 300 million in total, I can't see there being any easing of fares for the foreseeable future !

Another belter from a Government that wants to grow our tourism sector, but yet wants to stifle and throw obstacles in the way. The NPM reports that Wythenshawe who are playing FCIOM in the play off semi final wanted to bring a charter plane, with 88 fans. They had accommodation sorted, but aparently their plans are scuppered as they can’t park the plane overnight at the airport. When we need all the mug punters we can get, especially to fill the coffers of the local economy and reserves, to fund the civil service pensions. Priceless. The brains trust of Callister, Allinson, Crookall and the coterie of civil servants strike again. I bet if this was concerning the TT, Darts or Callisters pet Pool project, heaven and earth would be moved to accommodate. Now should this be filed under Are we Nimble? You couldn’t make this up!

If the government took over the supply and distribution of drugs, it would probably solve 'the problem'..........................

We would very quickly be dry.

In this piece of fiction.

"Along with its headline target of growing annual visitor numbers to 500,000, with a subsequent economic contribution of £520m, by 2032, the Visit Agency is also aiming to increase the average spend per visitor, driven by strong growth in a longer staying and high spending leisure market. It predicts this should result in a more than doubling of annual visitor spending on the Island to £310m, which will support an increase in visitor economy jobs to 5,000 and generate an annual exchequer benefit of £49m".

I have only one question, who contributes the other £210m, I am guessing the Great Manx Taxpayer. It is appropriately titled " Our Targets"
