Not sure how I typo'd it in the first place seeing as how p and g aren't even next to each other on the keyboard. And no, I don't drink and I'm fresh out of herb. Senior moment perhaps. Don't tell Vibes or he'll have me taken out back and shot. Edited October 28, 2023 by Zarley

According the Manx Radio The Isle of Man Constabulary has told Manx Radio the incident has been dealt with by way of ‘community resolution’. [...] Manx Radio understands Bus Vannin requested that repayment for the damage was sorted out between the parties and without police involvement. However when asked to confirm the position it had taken, the cost of the damage and whether it had been repaid, Bus Vannin declined to comment. A classic example of "nothing to see here". Gladys
TBF, is it really? Or more a pragmatic approach to sort something out with a lad who made a very big idiot of himself? I do hope that the approach taken by BV causes him to check his own behaviour and take responsibility for his actions in the future. Perhaps a futile hope, but a hope nonetheless.

It wasn't so much the approach taken I was thinking of, which is probably sensible in the circumstances, but the refusal to comment. Of course the episode doesn't really show BV up in a great light either, people really should end up locked in buses. (And the guy should lay off the Special K).
A fool and his money.....
Hang on a minute. I know this individual didn't deal with the situation he found himself in particularly well - but Bus Vannin must take some of the responsibility for locking him in the bus in the first place. It's not as if the damage he caused lead to any financial gain for him or was mindless criminal damage with no reason. Yes he could have handled the situation much better, but being stupid isn't a crime, all he did was free himself, if I were him I'd be very reluctant to pay for the damage.

He could have called the police rather than film himself getting increasingly irate and missing the emergency exit button! He was an eejit, caused damage and decided to film and post the incident. BV handled it right, IMV, but he caused the damage unnecessarily.
Two-lane
Does the IoM have a non-emergency number, as in England? I cannot find a reference to that. Edited to add: Best not to call 999 - the police arrive with balaclavas and assault rifles. Edited December 9, 2023 by Two-lane

Just put it in your list of numbers ( contacts) on your phone, just in case you might ever need it. No need to remember it
