Do we know how many cruise ship busses were cancelled due to staff sickness? Or was it just the Manx people who were penalised?

Well if we didn’t provide contracted buses for the cruise passengers our reputation as a tourist destination would have taken even more of a beating so they took priority.

To be fair there’s too many buses for the numbers using them & the schedules need reducing to fit demand

I appreciate that there may be contractual obligations, but what about the people whose taxes pay for the buses being unable to go to work? Missed doctors and hospital appointments?

As mentioned there’s too many buses for demand & normally only a short wait for another one

Tim Crookalls statement on Manx Radio this evening about this was quite funny. Apparently it’s because everyone is “tired” and he mentioned covid again. I wonder how many forum members would still have a job if they told their boss they were “tired” and would it be ok if the company didn’t deal with any customers for a few weeks so that they might feel a little less “tired” after the pandemic was very stressful.

The public sector, as Cannan said today, needs a massive kick up the ass.

What are the cruise ships being charged at for the bus service? Commercial rates or tax-payer subsidised rates?

The public sector sickness absences are way above private sector despite what Teachers like Helix say & need sorting ASAP
