2bees
The bus timetable is a mess, on one page they have busses which go to and from Onchan, same on another page and another. All busses goto Onchan. What they need is mini stations or hubs where the satellite routes can deliver people to and then take a shuttle bus to town. 1
emesde
Seems a strange thing to say or to even comment on as it just makes him look simple. Obviously it's right to service visiting ships and do the right thing to build tourism. But if 5 drivers, for example, are driving those busses, surely that means less drivers available for scheduled routes. Whatever other reasons there may be covid, illness, vacancies, etc reducing the numbers for any reason will have an impact.

Rates for workers within the public and private sector stood at 2.7% and 1.8% respectively 2019

If drivers have been moved from a scheduled route to pick up cruise passengers then it has affected regular service. Chasing cruise ship income over servicing tax payers will come back to bite Tim.

Schoolkids could design a better bus system than the one we have now. Step one - turn the sea terminal building into a bus station. Get rid of the cars parked there so that buses can get in and out. The old system where buses went to point A and back without going via B,C and D worked well enough Edited October 2, 2022 by Passing Time

Shes the one who got the mini buses on the road to replace this huge double deckers that used to stop outside my bedroom window every morning. She knows what she’s talking about. Amazed me how that double decker managed to turn down the sharp corner at the top.
