It was only the other day he was defending the fact coaches couldn't fufill this contract. DOI again found wanting ??!. Crookall is clearly getting fed up with this. He went and had a meeting with Tours recently himself from what he said in the Keys on Tuesday. Allegedly Bus Vannin are only supposed to be supplying transport if Tours haven't capacity. Which makes sense as cruise passengers expect to be moved around on coaches not buses. But he also referred to some cruise companies 'refusing' to use Tours, which sounds to me as if BV have cut a deal with them. Possibly via DfE who has a person who is supposed to organise all this. In the UK, this would be a small depot operation, managed by a graduate recruit, as their first job out of training. That said, they would have central support for aspects like HR, Finance, Procurement etc. which sound awfully like what Bus Vannin have! So why we need a small army of directors, managers, engineers, schedulers........ There needs to be a fundamental rethink on how it is set-up, which doesn't involve Longworth, or any of his cronies. Longworth is also in charge of vehicles procurement for all of Government fleets apparently so controls what is bought 1
Amadeus
So they now have a new container office at Lord Street to tell people there won’t be any buses. Handy

Handy They should have had that twenty years ago! But it's better than Longwith with a clipboard getting in everyone's way like previous TT's. Declan
What would be handy there is a sign saying where (what stand or Lord Street) to get the bus to various destinations.

Declan
I don't think bus stations are ever classy. (Apart from Preston's of course). It's an upgrade on what was there.

Numbnuts
Isn't that one of the pods used for the quarantine/checking at the boat just been aquired by DOI ??

According to the FoI: [Two] Weatherproof shelters at Parade Street Car Park. These are being repurposed by the Department of Infrastructure as they match the shelters being used for primary school student cycle parking as part of the active travel initiative Though maybe Longworth has nicked them off the schools, like he did with the minibuses. (£8036 the pair btw)
