This one Apparently there's 5 people in a team plus manager and who knows , maybe supporters etc.and not forgetting the bus drivers !!

It's taking place at King Bill's and though some are staying there, others are in Douglas.  Obvious the sensible thing would have been to get them on service buses and make sure those ran on time.  But no doubt the locals will suffer again.

55 teams of at least 5 will stretch service buses . No wonder there cancelling services for private hire

Except that one is about steam lines only. Won’t be going anywhere near Baldrine.

There was an electric railway festival last week. They had to reschedule tram trips to SMR and Laxey Ramsey. There were refund offers to the disappointed.

Interesting thanks.  I find it ironic that we hold multiple climate conferences and fly people in from all over the place.

People do still travel you know. Or should we hold all our conferences on Teams from now on? To save the environment etc etc..

Each year, teams of young linguists from around the world gather and test their minds against the world's toughest puzzles in language and linguistics. The IOL is one of twelve International Science Olympiads, and has been held annually since 2003.

A team of young cunning linguists

Ideally yes, why not?

we have greenies pontificating on the need to reduce fossil fuel use whilst encouraging global travel.

Even Great recognises that she can't talk about a climate emergency whilst flying from country to country.

It's very much do as we say, not as we do.

Example. Government tell us to stop using oil to heat your home. While at the same time they actively encourage cruise ships into Manx waters... one of the worst polluting things on the planet.

And pick them up and drive them round on diesel buses. While everyone who can’t get a bus as the buses are too busy then has to get to work or eat by private car or taxi.

Are there still any local Coach operators that can provide this role??? Should we ban Coach Tours that bring their own transport? Would we still get them??? Would we miss them, financially?

Sure BV have manipulated this situation but how to reverse it???

Perhaps the Govt should indicate to TOURS that BV will back out and let Tours take on, again, the role of bulk transport around the Island??? That would allow Tours to invest in future use.

When we talk about ‘sustainability’ what we are really talking about sustaining government jobs doing next to nothing but the opposite of what they’ve said they’re going to do to keep themselves employed.
