Did the kmpg report recommend reducing the number of civil servants as an alternative to growing the population?

Who appointed them to do the report ? Mmmmmm yes CS and ministers so theres your answer in one .

I don't think it's a case of supporting CS roles, it's a question of only having essential CS roles and closing others that exist for no reason.

We do need to rebalance the population. The dependency ration is goosed. But I fear we're just going to encourage another 15,000 pensioners.

We need to start by establishing about 1,000 affordable housing units for essential workers. Then we need to get 1,000 essential workers here doctors, nurses, dentists, teachers, bus drivers.

But I fear that nobody in Tynwald has the cahunas to tell the retirees "Sorry, we're full".

If we don't turn off the grey tap then the standard of living on the island will continue to decline, as the creaking health, social and education services continue to be overwhelmed, and the number of economically active people fleeing the island will only increase.

They weren't paid to say things like that...

If they are still doing private hires then someone needs sacking. Not "retired" with full pension, but sacked.

How on earth, in the middle of a self-declared climate emergency, can they justify diverting resources away from public transport when so many services are being cancelled?

Why can't the cruise ship passengers use scheduled services like everyone else? There might even be a few more of them running if they did.

Private hire sitting outside the big gaming company on peel road. Are they taking staff somewhere?

It’s really funny how the public has taken it upon itself to track the movements of these buses such is their dislike for the lying BV. I saw claims somewhere that they have now started to false flag the private hire ones so that they just look out of service so that people can’t report it all on social media 😂

Only when they are cancelling normal services citing staff shortages but running countless private services no problem.

How many private services have been cancelled due to lack of staff? I think we both know the answer

followed a double decker bus along the Poor town road  past the quarry at about 1-50 Saturday , the bus brought down  a number of large  overhanging branches and foliage  to such an extent that  vehicles  traveling in both directions had to stop , get out of their vehicles and clear the branches  from the road to be able to continue ,

there must have been a hell of a bang ,or damage to the roof of the bus, but the driver didn't stop  he must have seen the cars stopped  and having to clear the debris from the road ,

does anyone care anymore? cant believe the bus didn't stop  to check for damage or to thank those who cleared the debris of the road ,

The DOI used to have a vehicle the height of a double decker platform and they’d have someone on the back cutting down low hanging branches, I’ve not seen it for a while now (no doubt parked up at the Ellerslie) , the buses on regular routes do tend to keep the trees trimmed back, it’s when they send a double decker on a route that’s mostly covered by a single the fun starts.

I was told that there were twelve double deckers with smashed upstairs windows sitting at Banks Circus awaiting repairs!
