What happened to the ones they purchased? Stored in a hangar up at Jurby as of 5 years ago...

They never actually purchased any. The handful they brought here were on loan/evaluation from a dealer to where they returned. Any suggestion there were some hidden in Jurby is just an urban myth.

Not quite sure why that would amuse you, if only a little.

Because my comment was linked to a comment about bendy-buses, which do not have seats. It was Longworth's intention to use them on school runs, where 100 or so children would be standing - a fair number of them not being in reach of any safety strap or bar.

I didn't see how it's Ian's fault that kids couldn't reach the safety straps. Maybe they need to grow a bit?

"And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

No seats?

The single deckers certainly seem to bounce more than a Mercedes F1. The inertia seems unusually strong when you stand up ? So the safety notices are probably required!

Why are they so unstable to stand in? Is it hydraulic self leveling suspension? There seems to be some back and forward motion before a stop. Or is it my knees?

How do you remain seated when the bell pushes are only on every other hand rail?

Sorry then excuse my ignorance. I’ve not been on a bus in the Isle of Man which doesn’t have seats

It’s £10 an hour and zero hours. You can get £13 an hour working in B&Q.

I have a friend working for Busvannin on zero hours contract and yes he started on just under £11 but now he's been there over a year or more he now gets just over £15

And some are clocking up 60 hours plus. Many are doing 4x10hr shifts. Which has its own challenges

Well the bendy buses aren't on the Island so it's the wrong place to look for the experience.  They don't usually have no seats, but they have many fewer than a normal bus would for the number of passengers being carried.

You have probably been on one because they are what are usually used to ferry passengers about large airports and to/from the planes.  Which is fine for a five minute journey on flat concrete - less good for other situations.
