Bandits
Has anyone been up there since it opened? Just been through what an embarrassing load of crap. Half the road taken up with a completely stupid unneeded pavement and ridiculous bollards all over the place. More crack smoking at the DOI obviously. 6

That's the new cycle lane not a pavement isn't it?

I have yet to see a cyclist using the very expensive crossing at Anagh Coar , and riding around the Pulrose golf course cycleway , who dreams these schemes up ?
Nomadic Raptor
A cycle lane which nobody will use. Nobody uses the cycle lanes currently. if I was going to cycle into Douglas I would go via nunnery much nicer. Should have spent money on lighting down there

I give those stupid bollards about 3 weeks too before a HGV or a bus takes them out. The whole thing of just the usual DOI absolute load of **** 2
The Chief
Classic manx building, the place where a bike lane is needed 'Peel Road' get a couple of feet of painted tarmac, the place its not really needed and not linked to anything Pulrose bridge gets a 4 lane bike superhighway with separation and everything.
Lightening McQueen
Someone at the DoI is a Field of Dreams fan, “Built it and they will come”! Or from the contractor, “Pay me to build it and I will cum”! 2
Non-Believer
There's a Masterplan here somewhere, the rest of us just aren't seeing the Big Picture... A bit like the Promenade. And the crossing in Kirk Michael.

The master plan is they intend to make coming in and out of Douglas from the QB one way. So eventually the route out of town will be via Groves Road and it will be one way in from the QB past the Milestone. But that still makes what’s been done in Pulrose Bridge absolute ****. Chef Raekwon
Visibility towards Pully as you exit the Bowl is appalling.

I've heard that mentioned before but had heard the QB mega roundabout was back on the cards...
Non-Believer
It could also be that the DOI now see road design as individual artistic expression for their crayonista ranks rather than a functional means of moving traffic and goods. This would explain features on the Promenade, odd splurges of coloured tarmac to include red zebra crossings and a lot of what else goes on in the Island's Road network. It's the result of GCSE Art. 2
