  1. 1. What is the forums view on this fantasists ability to hang on to a role on Comin?

    • He should resign himself
    • He should be told to go regardless
  2. 2. Does anyone think he has the personal integrity to tender a resignation himself without being pushed?

  3. 3. Should the UK also be asking questions about his MBE?

Only for a few people. Judging by the comments on his Facebook page most people haven't read or don't understand what he's done wrong.

Also on his Facebook page is a statement from him about how Ranson hasn't been sacked and the media were lying...

That's odd if it's the case.  Hasn't the media simply been reporting the Tribunal decision?

"DECISION

The unanimous decision of the Tribunal is that Dr Ranson, having made protected disclosures, was automatically unfairly dismissed and suffered detriments in consequence. She was also unfairly dismissed irrespective of the protected disclosures."

At least two of the responses appear to be from senior DHSC officials (and one from Josem)

Probably Allison for Treasury if he doesn’t want best candidates ie Chris Thomas, at least Alex has the intellect to understand figures

Steady on sir.  He thinks that 500,000 visitors a year is realistic.

From 2021. This hasn't aged well:

Actually technically he was correct at that point.  They clearly wanted Ranson to go off sick till the end of her initially contacted period of two years, but she insisted on continuing to work to try to improve things on the Island.  The Decision refers to a report she produced in January 2022 for example.  Manx Radio simply got this wrong.

Ashford and co clearly hoped the whole thing could be sold as Ranson leaving because it was the end of her two years, but the Tribunal found that she had effectively been dismissed.  Whether you take the date as being January 2022 or April 2021 (or a bit earlier) when she should have moved to Manx Care, it wasn't in August.  That's just when the news of how she was being treated started to leak out.

Well she hadn't been sacked at that point.

But she had been dismissed by 13 August 2021, hadn't she?

I may be completely mistaken or may have got my dates wrong, but didn't the Tribunal determine that she had in effect been unfairly dismissed when she wasn't transferred over to Manx Care (or whatever it's called) on 01 April 2021?

3FM News: 'Toxic and vitriolic social media comments' played a part in Treasury Minister's resignation

He states: 'My partner and family have put up with a lot during my time in politics & I am not willing to put them through it any further'.

So he is just sitting back and just collecting the money.

No he'll be back as a minister in a couple of years.
