Ashford: Should he stay or should he go?

136 members have voted

  1. 1. What is the forums view on this fantasists ability to hang on to a role on Comin?

    • He should resign himself
    • He should be told to go regardless
  2. 2. Does anyone think he has the personal integrity to tender a resignation himself without being pushed?

  3. 3. Should the UK also be asking questions about his MBE?

Just shows you how poor IOM Newspapers readership is. One post on here and a years old story has already become the 5th most read story on IOM Today this week. It suggests they must have about 15 readers a week.

More lies being pedaled by Ashford. He is free to talk about this anytime he likes. The ridiculous sub judice laws of Tynwald only apply to discussions or statements made in Tynwald. Any day he likes he is free to trot off to Manx Radio or post comments on Facebook where the normal rules on sub judice apply and set the record straight. He has refused to do that though. He is clearly hellbent on hiding behind a self constructed wall of secrecy to hide his own guilt.

It is a cracking story though. It's always worth a re-read, you know, just as a reminder.

ETA: And that picture is a cracker too. It needs the £120,000 price tag though. The company went bust. I bet they took that money and ran.

Do keep up...

The issue is that he is lying rather than the news article. He is perfectly free to speak to the media at anytime he chooses without the Tynwald Standing Order on sub judice applying. Most MHKs are actually now freer to talk about this sort of thing on Manx Radio or social media than they actually are in Tynwald - which shows what an awful system of government we have. So Ashy please feel free to speak to the press or your constituents at any time you like to clarify your position as you won’t be bound by Tynwald Standing Orders at all.

When he does it will be like the Jonny Depp case.
