  1. 1. What is the forums view on this fantasists ability to hang on to a role on Comin?

    • He should resign himself
    • He should be told to go regardless
  2. 2. Does anyone think he has the personal integrity to tender a resignation himself without being pushed?

  3. 3. Should the UK also be asking questions about his MBE?

...........and there is a difference between being 'misinformed' and accepting what you have been told?

Ashfords problem is that he presented himself as being super 'across' all the problems that might arise and yet, in the end, he missed what was under his nose?

He also lied repeatedly regarding following medical advice and all medical personnel were behind the guidance.

As well as the reason for the vaccine delay

I agree, and that is where ego steps in.  But to say he is lying is unfair. Like I have said there is a spectrum between being remiss (for whatever reason, be it ego or incompetence) to being complicit.

He probably did genuinely think he was super 'across' all the problems, but he didn't question those who were providing him with the (mis)information.

However, that does not excuse the lack of contrition.

Gladys, I didn't say he was lying, rather that he used the rules to point out the he stayed within those rules  for a Minister, while anyone could believe that a person who understood the rules to Ashfords degree could not be across those rules as to mani9mulate those rules  to absolve his self self of blame?

Of course we don't know what he was aware of behind the scenes   and there must have been many conversations within the Dept that makes it disputable that he can reasonably claim to have not been aware of what was going on?

He was up at the Grandstand Paddock on Friday looking important dressed in a suit with his TT pass / lanyard round his neck allowing access to areas that the public aren't allowed to be in. As he is no longer a Minister I've got no idea why he would still be granted this.

Maybe not a case of being “granted”

Possibly “invited”?

I don’t know

The Grandstand is in his constituency.

Apologies - it isn't. (thanks Mr Mexico)

He actually sounds a bit subdued in that clip. Is this the closest to contrition he could manage?

Couldn't resist deflecting some criticism away from hisself with the ''not told everything''!

Certainly not a point by point rebuttal?

No it isn't it, it's in Douglas East.

The snippet just continues to illustrate how Ashford believes the job of politician is simply 'doing what you are told' - in this case by Magson.  That's why he always sounds so hurt in interviews - he's been a good little boy and done what he was told and ignored anyone who tried to explain things to him if they weren't the 'right' person.  He has absolutely no concept of what the job of a Minister actually should entail.

What he is basically saying is that he is a very bad judge of character. He clearly trusted someone implicitly who should not have been trusted implicitly at all. The same as Tim Crookall trusting a load of people who are clearly going to destroy his reputation too at some stage as they are literally cretins.
