Ashford: Should he stay or should he go?

136 members have voted

  1. 1. What is the forums view on this fantasists ability to hang on to a role on Comin?

    • He should resign himself
    • He should be told to go regardless
  2. 2. Does anyone think he has the personal integrity to tender a resignation himself without being pushed?

  3. 3. Should the UK also be asking questions about his MBE?

It’s possible, if there are buses wide enough and big enough to cater for every disablity and every special interest group on the island. It would cost the taxpayers a fortune and after a few years, an MHK would pipe up they aren’t up to standards so will need replacing. Sadly life isn’t always fair.

Just a footnote. All buses are the same width. The maximum allowed width.

Some will want a specially designed bus for Manx Roads, capable of carrying lots of mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and buggy’s.

What a load of bullshit. People I talk to, the general consensus is the island is heading down a very dark path, no disaposable income, and business confidence is very hard to comeby.

Economic Plan due in Tynwald next month

Should make most interesting reading

I have never seen a mobility scooter on a bus in Cornwall. Have you any photos. I was there last month. The buses were shit.

Here's are the nice new-ish smaller busses. Cool, eh? Plenty of room for buggies, scooters, dogs and even people.

Plenty of room you say? Go Cornwall Bus says otherwise

Some Class 2 scooters (up to 1000mm length and 600mm wide) can also be accepted onto our buses, but the ‘turning circle’ needs to be less than 1200mm.

If you’re not sure whether your scooter will fit, we can arrange a home visit from one of our accessibility officers to check.

UK regulations state that only one wheelchair or scooter can be carried in the designated accessible space, so if there is a wheelchair or scooter user already on board, we cannot take another.

Is the service farmed out to private operators with a Transport for Cornwall logo slapped on the side? Or run by the taxpayer?

Farmed.
