ManxFelicia
The Isle of Man's chief secretary has announced his retirement from the Isle of Man government. Interesting news given the current climate in Government!
Frances
maybe he can do some academic research - suggested title "Government Secretary - Servant or Master: a study from Betram Sargeaunt to W Greenhow" Edited May 16, 2022 by Frances
english zloty
He’s bravely fallen on his golden payoff if emergent rumour is true. 5
Two-lane
Surely a retirement announcement is treated in the same way as a resignation - there is a notice period to be worked. Even Reynolds worked the notice period.
snowman
If it isn't retirement, then they should be honest about it. It might restore public confidence (if it isn't a retirement)
Banker
At least he has resigned unlike Ashford!! Must be unexpected as Caldric CEO of treasury is in charge on an interim basis not Lewin 2

And like Williams did with him, a successor is already lined up and in the office to make sure the gravy train keeps rolling without any inconvenience.

If he takes pension now he will suffer an actuarial reduction for every year before 65, he can’t take it out as IOMG stopped that a few years ago so unless he wants to take a big g hit he’ll have to live on savings or drive a bus for a few years!! Derek Flint
In other news it appears that the DHA have failed to appoint a successor to Gary Roberts. Doubtless he will humbly stay on. Having spoken to a number of former colleagues this weekend all is not well in that organisation either. 2
