If you look at the heads gone in the DHSC and personnel this looks like damage limitation. Why would you resign from a job you’ve only had for less than a year? Probably because you know something really bad is coming and it’s been pointed out to you that you’re on your own when it does. Do you want to go with grace and a cleanish slate or potentially be fired for misconduct 6 months down the line when the shit hits the fan?
