when it comes to Cannabis unless it's a huge amount most people are only getting suspended sentences or probation.

looks like circumstances are different, the one you posted says the lad was on bail for a similar offence, so I would expect him to be treated differently

Most of the fines that are reported contain…..to be paid out of benefits..I suspect we would be struck dumb if the total amount of benefits paid out each year were made public.    Years ago the Health Service and Social Security were separate am I correct in thinking they are now lumped together.

I've mentioned this before. 

Look through the IOM pink book. The money brought in from income tax doesn't cover the benefits spend.

No you're completely wrong.  Social Security used to be under the original DHSS up to 2010.  Then the Department was split up and Social Security came under the control of the Treasury where it has remained ever since.

Whether the government puts the money in it's right or left pocket doesn't matter.
