TT 2023

Well, apart from the poor chap who was killed racing, although there's nothing unusual about that, I think this might have been the best TT like ever! Amazing luck with the weather. One might have expected God to be a tad more vindictive on that front what with his big day being fannied around with somewhat but no, He seemed to be on board with the new schedule! No rain whatsoever until the evening of the last day. No red flags. And no dead visitors. Amazing.

“No dead visitors”

There are some dead impressed ones.

Some dead set to return.

Some dead keen to relocate here.

Dead impressed with the racing.  There are loads of them.

Loads of dead tired business owners and staff who have just done enough business in a couple of weeks to ensure the rest of us can enjoy their facilities in deepest, darkest February.

Lastly there are tens of thousands of visitors and hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide who are dead happy that they didn’t have to read all the negative bollocks on here or bump into any of the miserable tits who want to see the festival scrapped.

Roll on TT 2024

The roads were closed quite a lot though, so I guess we can count on your criticism for next year.

Suppose it was seen as the safe option before deploying the taser.

It is a slight quirk of the Isle of Man that road safety is concentrated on removing 'unsafe' walkers to allow tourists on powered two wheelers to whizz around at 160mph completely uninhibited by speed limits, pedestrians, oncoming traffic or any other inconveniences that may slow them down and force them to limit themselves to the visibility available

It's not really. Same would happen in the UK if someone was walking along the M6. Some people are just stupid. You might not like motorbikes going at ludicrous speeds on open roads - I don't particularly - but that doesn't mean it's a good idea to walk amongst them.

its only cos the mountain is/was still one way , when it goes back to two way you can walk and cycle up there all you want.

If you are a lunatic.

Nobody in their right mind would walk or cycle on that road

Shhh.... don't let the active travel bods hear you. Next thing you'll have a shared footpath/cycle path all the way from the hairpin to the Creg. Which, like Lezayre Road, will be a white line about a meter from the side.

Its not the same as the M6 at all. The M6 is a motorway. Its an offence to walk or cycle on a motorway. Saying people shouldn't cycle or walk on our roads because they are unsafe seems pretty weird to me.
