TT Zero or not the whole event is fuc3d longer term due to the deaths and the high cost it drains from the islands taxpayers to put it on and the lack of financial return*

* How come it takes months to work out how many peeps went to the island for the TT? You own the boats and the airport, come on how hard can it be?

ETA.  A local mobile telecoms provider have made it known to shareholders that the island had "Many less people on the island during the TT"  Than in previous years. (Apparently they can see how any peeps are here in the islands mobile cells)

Less people at any one time.

More people at the end of the event which is exactly what the new schedule was meant to encourage.  It will take a few years for people to adjust and the full benefit to be seen.

What do you want them to do?  Just announce how many people travelled into the island via plane and boat during the formight?

And yet their 4g speeds were almost at a halt for the whole of race week.

TT conspiracy theory #791

Yes.

During the fortnight, or a couple of days before and after. Peeps with a non IOM place as their starting point would be a start.

If you go to the IOM  between 2 dates - say a couple of days before practice and a couple of days after race week - and all return journeys in-between

You could make a best guess that the people doing that return journey are here for the TT.

It is really not hard.

You can come back with "lots of business people do return journeys during the same period, which messes up that metric"

But that is fucking bull sh1t. they don't go to the island at TT time as they don't want to pay inflated prices and most local businesses are on partial shutdown due to the Death Fest.

IOM Residents do the opposite journey on return so they too are easily discounted from the big money making exercise that it the IOM TT.

Or, to use a biking expression, you could open your f*#£ing eyes. Oh no hang on that's right - you don't even live here!

You'd have to be a totally blind biggoted fool to be here in race week and not realise the vital importance of the TT to the island's economy, culture and being.

I wouldn't expect a dull old fart like you to understand. Yorkshire is the best place for you. Take your whippet down your local and watch the cricket on the Tele with a pint of bitter and let us get on with it.

FFS How hard is it, Your family's starting destination is IOM - Maybe not their return destination, but you may be a bit unique.

They are not going off island to watch the TT, so they don't count in the figures that could be easily calculated for the number of TT visitors.

Why does it matter, it'll still trump any event we have or are ever likely to have by tens of thousands. The place was buzzing as it always is TT week. This year was as busy as I've ever seen it.

No It was not.

Cell phone data trumps a "buzzing" feeling hands down.

Which part of the fact that it was deliberately setup to be a longer festival with people coming and going is hard for you to understand?

We don’t have the bed space for thousands of people for two full weeks, and TT fans don’t want to do that anyway.

They changed the event so that more people came for shorter trips.  That was the plan and it will take a while to really kick in but was already a success.

Do you understand?
