Roy Wilson looked at the cube accounts and delved a little bit into their history a year ago. He had no confidence (to say the least) in their ability to do the job. Apparently we need to carry out the same tendering and "due diligence" process as last time. Ignoring the fact that last time it resulted in giving the contract very late to a company that collapsed two months later. Then conniving with that company's owners to transfer the contract to them and pretending to the Manx public that it was with them all along. It also shows how clueless they are about the process. If you're putting something out to tender you know how you want the relationship with your contractors to operate. They're basically begging applicants to tell them how they want to do it. If insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result, this lot should be sectioned. Why make this so fecking complicated? It's effectively providing merchandising once a year for 2 nights of concerts for the likes of 'Madness' at the O2. Tons of reputable traders have been doing that regularly and reliably for decades. Too little knowledge in government allowing fly-by-nights to take advantage. Too complicated a tender process...and too greedy the government. Latest news is expression of interest went out today with the intention to appoint a new vendor within 6 to 8 weeks. Good luck with that one. And the contract will go to the highest bidder.
