I hear the new franchise holder is selling the official t shirts for £24 each. Before they were £12.

My days of tt t-shirts is over.

£25 for most and some of the ladies t-shirts are £28, as are those endorsed by specific riders.

£50+ for hoodies too...

You are still arguing a technicality whilst missing the point.

No, they aren’t technicalities they’re fundamentals and relevant to the point you’re trying to make, but actually missing.

Ha ha. Whatever. My point is that H&B will be worse off because there is no live entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less.

Blimey @Max Power. You are well out of touch. We had visitors last year. They loved it. We took them to Bushys first night. Grandstand the next. They never went back to Bushys the whole week. They said it was full of pissed 16year olds. The loved the grandstand and so did we. Riders and mechanics the same. All the more glad we wont be here this year. Dumbest decision ever ever ever. Keep half a dozen moaners happy. Piss off thousands. This event is trying its best to kill itself off

I live not far from the grandstand and loved going there for the bands and being able to chat to the pit crews who were invariably there when their day was done. Occasionally some riders too. Yes , I could hear the bands sometimes  at the house depending on wind direction but it did not bother us was never too loud and was never late. Odd decision , can see less people using the tent now. But hey ho , organisers get something right - and then mess it up. Must be some other reason , wealthy influential types live in the area.

riders often arrived for morning practice having recently departed the Casino , and others following a good sing song in their seafront hotels , no alcohol ban or even testing in Joey Dunlops day  ,  they rode hard and played hard ,  and the better looking ones had no problem pulling the women , Many a rider would do 4 laps in the morning  , finish the race  have a few pints  to rehydrate  over lunch and ride again in the afternoon ,  life was must simpler and less regulated ,

they say before the war  some riders had a strong drink and the continentals  downed  a large glass of fortified wine before the start of a race

Different times now , much more   control , and probably clearer heads for racing

Some of the stories of Joeys idea of ‘rest’ are legend - in the early days of his career !

Even tales of optics being mounted inside the backs of the vans, IIRC...
