I tip my hat to you sir. The IOM gov sent a survey out to TT fans just prior to covid,i suggested a Shuttle Bus doing a circular route from the sea terminal to St Ninians during practice and race week.As a many times user of the Go Saver/ explore cards on the mostly excellent Manx bus service during bike events ,i often find being in Douglas / Strand/ Harbour area the need to get "uphill" to before and after the action. Even the Victorians had a tram doing this? NB Quarterbridge hotel being closed makes it less attractive . I wonder if a private bus firm could do this?,no timetable needed, just a 52 seater bus doing a simple circular route, those waiting would know another empty bus will be around in 10 minutes.Perhaps 3 fiberglass ,newspaper vendors huts ,could house a ticket seller( jobs for teens)at the Sea terminal,Villa Marina, and Grandstand . Single ticket= £4 no problem . Not wishing to upset the taxi trade which needs to survive too.
Ativa
This looks awesome. If they could get it the audience that drive to survive had, or even the current Wrexham football documentary then it could genuinely revolutionise tourism on the island. https://iomttraces.com/latest/news/no-room-for-error-coming-may-2023/ They are not though, and even if they did the locals would moan

Come to think of it I’m sure our politicos would love to get in on the act, increase their media profile. Remember what it did for TT Blues, and Jurby Prison. If a multi billion pond industry that most people on the planet know of can increase its audience off the back of a documentary then imagine what the TT could do? Have you seen the Wrexham thing? Both backed by Netflix and Disney, both contain household names or massive movie stars, both about 2 of the most popular sports in the world. Don’t think John McGuinness Is gonna quite cut it in that company.

joebean
The problem for the TT is that for every enthusiast that is turned on by the the publicity about the danger and potential for fatalities, there are probably a few more who are not interested in motorcycle racing and become less interested in it and the Island as a result. It’s the old “all publicity is good publicity” thing that is not necessarily true. Mass exposure of the TT needs careful handling. I suspect, however that the film will appeal mostly to those within the niche and cement opinion with those people, rather than extending the appeal of the event much wider.

It was common in quite a few sports before big money and professionalism took over. In Joey's time the Irish lads used to run on a Castrol R/Guinness mix. hissingsid
The operator of the fair is certainly very keen to get back, he was on Man Radio this morning, it just shows the amount of money he is making because it must cost fortunes to bring all the stuff over. It is not so much the fair I dislike but the position should never be on the promenade.
