Dirty Buggane
Everybody should show there displeasure at this, and let your MHK know. Though fat lot of good it will do. And the high court should understand that this IS in the public interest, it is one short step to a dictatorship run by the civil disservice.

I assume they will say nothing as it is sub judice. And if the judgment is passed in favour of the Civil Service, they will still say nothing. Until next election time.. Looks like they could save some money be culling him and not recruiting for these non-jobs. Seems a precise amount the fine. Probably Rich's annual salary
Omobono
there should be a total review of Manx care and those responsible for this lack of judgement dismissed forthwith , thats what would happen in the real world , and this is exactly what was predicted to happen when you import directors and executives who know nothing about the Isle of man and its legislation , 4

There's clearly a lot more to this that they'd rather was not in the public domain, it will be interesting to see the reasons for this attempt, assuming of course that they are disclosed. Let us hope that the High Court put justice and public interest first. The DHSC is perhaps even more of a cess pit than many people already thought. 5
manxfisherman
That, if true, is disgusting. Wonder if Hooperman will make one of his smug twitter comments about it. Probably not.

You lot get worse, this is proper North Korea style government, why can't you see it and rise up? I hate to see the island fall apart like it seems to be doing, with no regard to the lower earners, especially. Even the top earners will be fucked over by this type of shit as once you let a corrupt system continue it will always end in disaster - See multiple African Republics and Eastern European states for examples. At least in England when things are hushed up they are for proper MI5/ MI6 and the like security. There is nothing on the island that is that sensitive that it needs to be kept out of the public domain. Unless I am mistaken and the island has a secret service?
Non-Believer
Let us also not forget that they will be using taxpayer's money in this attempt to cover their sorry, incompetent, self-serving arses. Total cost please, Mr Hooper. 5
Wake Up Call
Public money will be spent on covering up the lies. Just dwell on that a moment. 3 1

Dr. Grumpy
Hypothetical question: If a hearing has the potential to unearth corruption/criminality in the actions of senior personnel of a Government department, could that hearing be blocked on the grounds that any such exposure may cause the public to lose confidence in the Government? 1

Regardless. What’s the betting on more resignations next weeK? Even if they managed to suppress it (unlikely I’d think now) those affected must by now realize that the game is well and truly over?
Hoops
Hmmmm. How independent are our judges really? we live in a small island, their social circle and, just let's say, the social circle of members of the AG's office, are extremely likely to touch, particularly given their shared profession. I believe this came up in the Street Heritage court case and the relationship between the lawyer who failed to represent that company and the deemster overseeing one of the actions arising from this execution..................................of the law, of course, of the law.
