One minute you guys are complaining about a rainbow flag on cheese wrappers; next demanding Red Leicester, Blue Stilton and Purple Helmet cheeses.

All they need to do is add in a Sage Derby variant and with Cheddar and Double Gloucester the Creamery can do a special set next year.

Why are there so many different French cheeses? They’re trying to invent cheddar.

(Heard that one on R4 yesterday)

According to trade press there are over 1000 varieties of UK cheese produced now compared with some 600 French varieties. 🍕🧀

You can produce Manx Champagne. But you can’t label or sell it as that.

So you can’t produce it then?

Anymore than I can urinate in  a bottle and call the contents of that bottle Manx Champagne without labelling or selling it as such

FFS....

You can make the bloody stuff, following the same methods and processes but you just can't call it Champagne.

I think its now the same for a Cornish Pasty.

Yes you can follow the same methods and processes but an essential characteristic of Champagne is that it is made in the Champagne region of France.

So not only can you not call it Champagne.  It is not Champagne because it is missing that essential element that would make it Champagne.

Hope you understand now.

(I don’t think a Cornish Pasty has ever been allowed to be called Champagne)
