Well isn’t there all this business about trains ( including mail trains) having to be in position in advance of the strikes? So when things resume they are in the right place. Or something like that

The IOM postal service is very good. I often send stuff to Manchester and it is there the next day. The issue seems to be the other way which is dependent on the stuff getting through the UK system to reach the depot for the final leg here.

Not according to tracking info which often shows packages in the IOM for 2 or 3 days before they’re delivered:

You get the same with other delivery services where the tracking says on the IOM but it is actually waiting in Bolton, for example, to be grouped with other items for actual despatch to the island. They have just stated when stuff is handed over to the IOM leg, I think. 2 2

I've seen it recently where the tracker shows the parcel has gone straight from the Leeds sorting office to delivered to the IOM. This is clearly nonsense, so I can only assume the tracker says it's on the IOM the second it goes into the pile of stuff to come here. I’ve had messages from Hermes saying parcels delivered with a photo of my alleged signature , parcels turned up 2 days later!! Apparently the courier does it to get paid even though the parcel is sitting in his car !

That's strange as they are not collecting signatures at the moment as far as i know Sometimes these are system errors. I got an email saying something had been signed for 2 days before it arrived but I believe the milestone was that it had left the care of a UK service and delivered to a hub that was destined for the IOM. Not always the drivers fault and our hermes driver is fantastic

0bserver
What's going on with the post plane? There's constant delays and cancellations with it and it's not all down to the weather or ATC problems.
