Mercenary
Asking the public whether they like fast mail or slow mail seems like a very government way of doing things. Can they not just check their sales records to see if it's justified? Or does that require utilising the dreaded subpostmaster IT system? ADELE
Hopefully it will cost less by boat and the Post Office will become profitable again.
cissolt
Has the chairman commented on this yet? Using netzero to try and mask a cost cutting measure, why can't they just be honest?

RM have withdrawn Jersey last month plus several other flights across UK as both cost savings & push to net zero
Andy Onchan
We surely can't be that far away from delivery of letter mail from UK to IOM by drone. RM have trialled it in the Scottish Islands recently.
Shake me up Judy
Not much good if you're running a business and there's no boat for two days. Didn't they try this before and ended up going back to airmail ? You can't run a modern postal service by sea.
Omobono
I was told in a recent visit to my local post office that they were stopping the sale of postage stamps and were being replaced by a printed strip to be produced at the counter , don't know what effect this will have on the philatelic side of the post office which I believe is still making money and an excellent advert for the isle of Man

Which is an interesting stance from a man who made his living criticising the Govt on a national broadcaster. 4 2

Non-Believer
Royal Mail are withdrawing the priority airmail facility on cost grounds and via a convenient loophole that they've found in the regulations governing their obligations. IoM Post get little or no say in the matter bar any shouting and quoting carbon/emissions reduction is just greenwashing to avoid admitting that state of affairs. The proposed 48HR Tracked replacement will not be a direct replacement for the current service and despite the claims of the "survey" results, a lot of people and businesses are going to notice the lack of the faster airmail facility that they have been accustomed to.
