Two-lane
Fewer letters, slower service, some counter staff outsourced elsewhere - by how much has the Chief Executive Officer's salary been reduced to align with the lower workload and responsibility? 4

IoM Post get little or no say in the matter bar any shouting and quoting carbon/emissions reduction is just greenwashing to avoid admitting that state of affairs. The proposed 48HR Tracked replacement will not be a direct replacement for the current service and despite the claims of the "survey" results, a lot of people and businesses are going to notice the lack of the faster airmail facility that they have been accustomed to. RM is morphing into a version of DHL/FedEx etc which is probably long overdue.

RM have withdrawn Jersey last month plus several other flights across UK as both cost savings & push to net zero this will be coming back into fashion at this rate.

How much paper actually needs to be delivered within 24 hours? Technology has removed much of that urgency, so is there sufficient volume left to justify an air mail service?

It's not just paper, Amazon and some other retail suppliers still use it as a delivery option for goods. Also any priority passports or other documentation coming from the UK and supply of forex for your holibobs currencies ordered via the Post Office. All those services will be slowed requiring people to prepare and think further ahead.

The same story across all Statutory Boards and Depts, including the SPCo which had its first milking at the last Budget. It's ultimately the new bottom line, Govt honouring the commitments to its own legacy problems of its own making and its own failure to address in 17 years. It needs to be remembered that UK-despatched airmail rates TO the Island are substantially less (50% and more in some cases) than airmail rates paid here to be posted OFF the Island. Big debt (£100million approved) going to be built up on a gamble that IOM Gov can do building projects like Dandara/ Hartford do in the hope of making money. Has been touted as Brown Field Development but the actual stuff that is happening is no such thing. 18 Months? Now to do what with the old Nurses Home and knock down a couple of nearby buildings. How long do you think that would have taken if DD or HH were doing it?
