Exactly.  Clearly someone has attempted to frame him/grass him up.  Unless he's abandoned his car somewhere, that's the only way the Police pop round to breathalyse you.

or  someone unconnected to him has thought the car driving in front of them isn't driving the best so has called it in as a concern.

end of the day there are loads of reasons it could have been called in

Don’t spoil their fun. This is yet another scoop for the online Dads Army of Manx politics. But government is shaking in its boots apparently that Manx Forums still exists because of all the accurate cutting edge things it exposes about Manx politicians.

Ker-ching!!   Another £80 - let’s hope it works as a diversionary tactic, otherwise it’s just tax-payers’ money wasted!

He has resigned ffs.  It’s all true.

you can say people don’t believe what I post but it’s all fact, and it’s all condensed into little bit sized nuggets rather that long, rambling dull posts full of stuff copied from the internet.

If the rumour isn’t confirmed by this time tomorrow I will never post again.  The rest of us can only hope that you will offer the same if it turns out I am right.

@CrazyDave Are you keeping your promise?

On this occasion, a number of MF members were simply on the edge of a genuine story that was developing through Saturday and yesterday.  Not all of the nuance was correct, but the gist of what was being said certainly was.

I saw messages start going ping, ping ping on Saturday afternoon.

One feature of the story that I have heard, and which may never be cleared up I guess, is the rather long time taken between a verbal altercation in a hostelry in Sulby (presumably followed by a call to the police) after which himself left, and the breath test.  Operational reasons - all the plods out fighting crime - or something more managed?

There are some seriously delusional posters on this forum. Another feature of the story might also be that it’s total shit and he passed a breath test. And some sad anonymous bastard just had it in for him.

That a Chief Minister needs to be breathalysed is the story - hence his public statement etc.  The call to the plods may have been malicious, who knows, but they still went to his gaff and did the test.

Seriously so a Chief Minister should never have a pint in a pub ever then according to you? I’ve been breathalized twice and on both occasions I was totally negative. So who cares what the reasons for having a breath test were? The [none] news is that I passed not that they had cause to test me in the first place. They probably had to test him otherwise every loony old codger on here would be saying they let him off and it’s all a conspiracy.

It looks like the police did their job and the only story is that he had an argument with some sad twat in a pub and the sad twat then tried to get him booked.

Maybe if the police hadn’t all been out escorting biosphere swatting tractors, the test would have happened in a more timely manner?
