Banker
I assume this is the development that we’re contributing 25% towards, not sure where all the cars will park but https://www.three.fm/news/isle-of-man-news/more-than-100-flats-planned-for-douglas/?fbclid=IwAR0S0d0huoJX_4Koh78VjaHlmt_k9R7uDwnbsPV43vM-v1lZy5KH7B5Hg_4
NoTail
I can see that when I reach my late 80s and cannot drive a flat here would suit me. I actually don't expect to live that long but hey ho!
Two-lane
This is another "15 minute village". This is a concept I do not think is valid for the Isle of Man. If someone lives within a short walk of a tube station in London, then maybe a car is not required. Everything such a person needs is easily accessed. But a great advantage of the IoM (for some people) is to be able get away from the big city and go out to Blue Point and have a wander around on the beach. You can't do that on foot from Douglas. 2

Yes, but it’s 2 minutes from the nearest big shop, 10 minutes from the business working area, half a dozen pubs and restaurants within 5 minutes, main shopping area 10 mins, sea terminal 10 mins. Douglas beach, 10 mins. And whilst we don’t have a tube system we have a cheap and frequent bus service, to most of the Island, all centred on the bus terminal, about 7 mins away. You’re right. You won’t get to Blue Point, the Ronague Treacle Mines and other remoter places without a taxi or hike from the closest point on the transport network. But many younger people aren’t learning to drive, and owning a car isn’t high on their priority list. It’s a generational thing. It suits them. It’s not aimed at you. Let it go. 2
asitis
If it's anything like the price of the other apartments overlooking the river it isn't going to be young people buying them !
