New Casino

Gef are reporting that a new Casino, large multi storey car park and 3 storey entertainment complex which includes a casino. The MiddleMarch Site.

No doubt the IOMG cheerleaders will be on praising our illustrious leaders and civil servants, and the wonderful Manx Development Corporation.

Do I think this development will get off the ground ………… in a nutshell - no! The old bus station development failed. If this one gets of the ground, it is likely the GMT will be helping out financially.

Remind us, where is Middlemarch?  Near Middle Earth?  Or some grand estate from the times when the staff knew their place?

It may as well be. Opposite Lord Street adjacent to Walpole Avenue.

Back in 2018 there were press reports that  the Palace hotel and casino might relocate to this site and so it might not be an extra  new casino as such but a relocation of an existing one . At the time  a spokesman for the Palace said they  should be based where the entertainment areas are rather than their current location.

Perhaps the 6 Chinese Bank will come after all? I think that there are so many crisises within IOMG, that IOMG have taken to gerrymandering the news agenda to knock the Chris ‘Crisis’ Thomas off the airwaves. Perhaps the next stage of news management is making Rob Callister the new Minister of Economic Development. He can oversee the new Casino and Car Park Project.

It must be a relocation of the Palace as, IIRC they have the only licence on the IOM,  I'm sure John W will confirm. Meanwhile I am pissed off with the abandoned steel structure on Duke Street and the big whole in South Quay. Can't we get someone to sort some of these out?

Why should we be surprised?
