Asthehills
This will happen or at least start, within 36 months. The same as the old Park Road school site and the old nurses home site will. Plus a few others. Maybe people shouldn’t knock MDC until they have actually got a reason to? Yes the Palace will occupy this site as main tenant
0bserver
Have to say I'm more interested in what they're planning beyond the Middlemarch site. Look at where the Sea Terminal currently is...

Kopek
They only have ONE project on the go at the mo! Time will tell??? Not to be negative, they have made a start but will it expand or fizzle put as a lot politician led projects do? It's probable that Chris T will lose the Dev corp role soon to be given to another MHK, his input then will be down to 'collective responsibility' in Comin? Will he win his arguments? Five on the go at the moment that I know of, so probably a few more if not double.
code99
Good luck, but without GMTaxpayers wonga, in the current economic climate sure way to lose money, IMHO.😕 "Altostratus wants to build offices, a 250-space multi-storey car park, and a three-storey leisure and entertainment complex incorporating a casino. The proposed development at Middlemarch will be one of the biggest commercial schemes seen in the town centre for several decades and will help link the growing leisure offering on the North Quay with the well-established shopping and business districts in Lower Douglas. Subject to obtaining the necessary approvals to move their casino licence, Palace Hotel & Casino Limited will be an anchor tenant for the development, with two of the three floors in the leisure complex earmarked for their casino, conference, and entertainment offering". https://gef.im/2022/08/03/casino-proposal-for-lord-street/

With temperatures to be around 35-40 degrees centigrade shortly, the high buildings in narrow streets provide shade from the sun. That's what they do in Spain anyway! NoTailT
Isn't this already the site of a great number of contract parking spaces? Multistory sounds good. But that roundabout is often a mess at rush hour, especially when the swing bridge is in operation. Suspect lots of hurdles with this. Be great if it happens though. At the time a spokesman for the Palace said they should be based where the entertainment areas are rather than their current location. If it’s the Sefton group, odds on the government will bail them out before it even starts…
