Amazon said they could guarantee delivery by 29th of December. I ordered the same item, same price with free delivery from Smyths the toy shop. Arrived two days later ( possibly three, not sure but I think two) and was not hounded into some “ prime” membership thing by default which you have to jump through hoops not to sign up to We've ordered a lot of things from Jac Stores for the family, always turns up next day. Hope the eldest appreciates the washing pegs and batteries. 1

The shopkeeper showed me messages from DPD that deliveries were being cancelled to the IOM. Not sure what the issue is. I was watching BBC news this morning and a company who delivers in the UK had 90% of their delivers cancelled from, l'm sure it was DPD. Also my daughter runs a craft business producing specialist lettering designs and she has had to close her website due to non arrival of orders in the last few weeks.

Just to add a point regarding the business above they also said they had tried to change to another delivery company but they weren't able to find another as they are not taking on new customers. Also my daughter has only temporarily closed her website until New Year due to the postal difficulties. Apologies for not making my point very clear.

Reacher is entertaining because it follows a predictable pattern: introduce fresh idiot, have Reacher deliver comeuppance to fresh idiot, rinse and repeat. https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/tv-radio-web/kill-them-reacher-i-shout-he-makes-them-crunch-and-squelch-and-i-laugh-myself-sick-1.4792796 My favourite bit of that article: "That's when we learn that not only is Jack Reacher good with fists and with guns but his mind is also a fist and his brain is a gun. He shoots brain bullets at people with his thought cannon (his mouth)." Next time there's a silly, pointless, tit-for-tat so-called "discussion" here, I'm sure brain bullets and thought cannons will spring to mind. 2

Yes and as a young boy I had a collection of chisel jawed, handsome looking, well dressed muscular ripped Action Men. I didn’t want to look like them though, probably because they didn’t have a penis. You may have accidentally hit on the reason behind Vibes’ bitterness… …I mean, of course, that Vibes may not have been given a Barbie/Action Man as a child… Edited December 19, 2022 by Jarndyce Addition for clarity!

I put an order into Amzon today for my address here and it was all coming in early January. Changed the delivery to my uncle in the UK (whose presents they will be) and they claimed guarenteed delivery next week. Out of interest, have you watched Reacher on Prime? Not yet, but sounds ok to hunker down to in the forthcoming arctic weather!

genericUserName
Delivery times seem to be back to normal again now. The biggest issue I am seeing is with slow local IOM Post delivery - i.e. Royal Mail Tracked 48 shows that the thing has arrived in Douglas. But then it takes a few a days. I think the RM tracker shows it’s in Douglas even though it’s only just left UK hub en route to IOM
