Eris
Keep in mind that Amazon is both a retailer and also a Marketplace place used by suppliers in their own right. We've found that in the case of suppliers using the Amazon Marketplace delivery dates usually exceed those by Amazon Prime.

If the Country/Region field is set to "United Kingdom" and Isle of Man is higher up in the address, then the system will presumably treat it just like anywhere else in the UK (excluding NI). But if the Country is "Isle of Man", then at least some parts of the system may be treating it as a funny foreign place and setting delivery times accordingly. Of course this may not affect actual delivery time, as other bits of the system may still be treating the IOM as effectively part of the UK. But it's confusing. This could be the issue. My friend had his Country set as Isle of Man and mine is United Kingdom, when he was looking for something it didn't come up on his Amazon but did on mine, he changed his Country to United Kingdom and it was suddenly showing in his search results (prices were different on a couple of things as well).

doc.fixit
Mine is set as IOM, UK which seems to work except for Chinese products, although I am having to wait just over a fortnight for something from Germany.

For a particular item, I had to go online as the local suppliers recommended doing this. The promised delivery date was 19 August. Items arrived this afternoon. Two-lane
Slightly off-topic, but someone by the name of Doreen Triumph left an article of clothing up at the Bungalow a couple of years ago. Maybe it was a just a tight fit so she discarded it:

This is correct, some goods sent directly from certain suppliers will be posted out by the cheapest method, in the belief that there is a high postal rate to the IoM. Also suppliers may use courier companies that don't operate in the Isle of Man and so either won't deliver or will charge a premium for sending via Royal Mail.
x-in-man
Simply ring/email them and point out that RM is the same price as sending down their street. Lose the custom or send it cheaper to everyone by RM.
Kopek
It's good that some online retailers are now going to charge for 'Returns'!!!!
