Albert Tatlock
I actually put £20 on Maudant getting it...especially if it goes back to the Tory party members to decide. Looking unlikely for her currently...but with 3 prime ministers in 5 months - who knows?
P.K.
From Wes Streeting: "Boris Johnson has done the country a service by inviting so many of his colleagues to publicly endorse him in a way that places their poor judgement and stupidity on public display to their constituents..." Not forgetting that a tory MP's priorities are Self followed by Tory Party and then Nation which always come last. Facing a difficult time at the polls some obviously thought that their only chance of staying on the gravy train was to back Bozo. A new nadir for tory politics... John Wright
17 minutes ago, wrighty said: You sure about that? Last one was December 2019. Yes. It’s not measured from the date of the election but the first date the new parliament sits. 5 years from that date is the latest date by which it must be dissolved. Then add the election campaign period. So, 17/12/19 to 16/12/24, plus GE campaign. So 22 or 29 January 2025, assuming tradition of Thursday is stuck to. Id expect sooner. No one would want to campaign over the festive season.

That is to dissolve 5 years to the day after it first met. That would be 17/12/2024. However the election would then have to be run - which is 25 working days later - 23rd January 2025.
