Not sure he should be arrested for it, but he’s definitely a dick. Absolutely agree now is not the time. Wait a week or so if that’s what you want to do.

The accession of a new monarch is not the time to protest the concept of monarchy?

That said the "protests" have been random individuals shouting random stuff at a funeral cortege. They are doing that stood amongst the most extreme monarchists who are in an volatile emotional state - you can see why the coppers might want to manage that situation.

(Oh and the copper in the blank piece of paper incident was clearly just bullshitting a gobshite like happens in every town in the country every Friday and Saturday night).

If there was a coherent organised anti-monarchy protest called the police would facilitate  it in a way that would avoid conflict with the monarchists. But there isn't.

Personally, I'm heartily sick of all the mourners parroting the same tributes to the Queen in TV vox pops, all the meaningless pagantry, the tartan and other ridiculous costumes, the hushed reverential  tones on TV, the people who are very angry at Prince Harry and his wife about something and weird angry irrelevant post from armchair once-a-jubilee republicans. They're queuing overnight to gawp at her coffin - let her rest in peace.

Don’t worry they’ll be at food & drink festival!

Minister Clare Barber claims it’s important to keep local, and she justifies the Festival, claiming some activities have been scaled back, out of respect. So it’s a silent Festival, no music or entertainment? If you are going to cancel parliamentary business, cancel sporting events, and the last night of the proms, then this event should have been rearranged or cancelled.

Yes, the food and drink festival is going ahead as sellers have been doing a lot to prepare towards it.

The government however, are postponing their cost of living meeting.

I shall leave you to your own conclusions on that one.

A hypothetical scenario, if a leading member of royalty or political figure dies during TT week, if the UK suspends life, like parliament, sporting and entertainment out of respect. Would the TT get cancelled?

They hardly suspended any sport.  Football was pretty much the only major sport impacted.

Golf, cycling, British Superbikes and much more all went ahead.  I have no idea why the football was off.

A couple of matches in London this weekend are off but that’s down to being unable to police them due to prep for the funeral

No the TT would find some picture of the deceased Royal posing on a bike at a factory and carry on saying "it's what he would have wanted". Then a group of bikers would hold ride out around the course in his memory and another lot would gather in Laxey and rev their engines in "respect".
