Alf live on Mannin line confirming no more pay for teachers considering the large pay rises in past 2 years.

If Geraldine’s mob continues with its disruptive behaviors punishing school children he will consider legislation to stop them striking.

Toryboy lite strikes again. Any legislation backing the removal of people to strike for better conditions will not be tolerated by the public.

Consider but never have the bottle to enact.

You would hope so but many people have been conditioned to hate Trade Unions and the media and people like Banker keep regurgitating the same anti trade union propaganda.

Nah I am fine with it in this instance.

If they were earning less than their counterparts in the UK or had had less increases over the last couple of years then I would support them.

They simply need to stop now.  They have already negotiated a brilliant package compared to UK and there isn’t any more money to give them.

Money now to be diverted to the nurses please.

Very passionate point, sadly incorrect yet again.  Minister Edge has stated “Overall over the last two years, it has been between a 10.3% and 18.7% uplift for everybody.”  The much claimed 11.9% for this year is another distraction, this only applies to new starters, it is impossible for an existing employee to receive this uplift.

And more to the point, how would he advocate the insistence that teachers adhere to their terms and conditions when that’s what they have done so exactly for nigh on 2 years?

You are right.  It would be useful if people stuck to the facts.

Am I detecting a resignation in your posts that public opinion has shifted towards thinking teachers now have a very good package and should just crack on for a year or two?

I don’t know if you have a vote in the NASUWT or not but if you did and were asked to vote on continuing or halting action now how would you vote? Do you think support would be more or less than last time when slightly over 200 teachers decided to disrupt all of our kids education even further after they suffered the disruption of lockdowns?

That will be worth watching. Our AG's office will take a year to draw it up , multiple hours of overtime and still get it wrong.

Oh look!  The beloved private sector is making big pay settlements now...

Misleading headline.  It’s 10 percent so similar to what the teachers have just had, and less than many of them.  It’s also double what our private sector business has had in the last 24 months.
