ptarmigan
I’ve stayed there a couple of times and it’s been absolutely fine. Breakfast was busy but service was good. There was a big do on in the main room but still staff on the bar. It was quiet at night.

x-in-man
Walked out of better hotels than Ramsey Park. Walked out of that one too. Room not cleaned when we checked in - well past check in time Room not serviced during the stay - or partly serviced with no towels or loo roll left. 2 hour wait for food, or ignored altogether for food service. Food bland and served by staff who'd not be out of place in a school canteen. 30 mins wait for drinks from the bar. Breakfasts that NEVER turned up. Windows leaking. Ceiling tiles blown out and not picked up for 3 days. Rubbish left at the tops of stairs for days. No heating on last visit No hot water flow when busy. Noise from Chav, Chavette and little Chavelles. Rude staff. Never going back and would never recommend it. Captive market there - they just do not care. Been there more than once. The 1st time when it was new - OK. Second time - bit of a let down but plodded on as we were meeting friends. Last time, stay-cation, worse, came home 2 days early. Never heard back from my comments/complaints. Sefton is better - and that's bloody saying something!
thommo2010
I know of an owner of a very popular place in Douglas who is considering closing due to the rising costs of everything, like I say this place is always busy so if they are struggling then no doubt others will be as well 1

Personally if I’m looking to go to an Indian I wouldn’t be looking for one in a carpark from choice. I’m not sure how it works if it’s licensed but I suppose it might be handy being able to leave your car and pick it up on the way to work after a few beers rather than risk it overnight in a disc zone in town but it’s a very odd spot for a sit down restaurant. I’d prefer to go somewhere like Aura on the prom where at least you can have a nice walk back to the car or a taxi afterwards or go on for more beers at the Queens. There you're basically just in a carpark. Everyone seems to be bothered about parking and thats sorted in the case of the new Veliikas in Douglas..Agree that the location isn't great though. You need a designated driver if you plan to drink and then go somewhere else for more . 😞 Will work very well for someone planning to pick up a takeaway on the way home from work in Douglas. While KFC never seems to be as busy as McD they still seem to be doing okay ..i.e similar to many UK branches that I've been to . Andy Onchan
Only ever been into one KFC (Gainsborough, Lincs).... and never again. Had a serious bout of the shits 6 hours later that lasted a day and half and cost me an extra night in the Premier Inn next door. And it seemed to be the centre for drug dealing. Lots of youngsters coming and going and sitting at a table with a guy who seemed to be holding court.

This might go down in history as one of the strangest business decisions ever. Good luck to them, but I can’t imagine any circumstance when I would be a customer there when there are Indian restaurants all over the island within walking distance of pubs and bars and without a view of parked cars and people queuing for fast food. Different concept for a different market. Times have changed and a lot of younger folk like the convenience of these places. You only have to look at the other three units nearby to see that. It's Indian fast food. You, not unlike me Dave, seem like a guy of a certain age. It might not be for you, but it will appeal to other people, particularly that younger demographic. These sort of places are frequent and popular in the UK. I'm not saying it will definitely work and it's a bold move, as I'd imagine the rent alone will be very high, but there is definitely a more worldly market for it. Whether that market exists on the Isle of Man remains to be seen.
