Incredible how they’ve been marketed as a sophisticate’s appetiser. They’re basically salty slime that have literally filtered shit out of seawater to feed it to the next person.

Can you tell I’m not a fan?

I always think the same when I'm with anyone eating any kind of bivalve - you're eating a biological filtration unit.  They've literally been manually seeded and used to clean the water in places like Liverpool Docks.

Although that refers to the US, I believe the same applied in the British Isles.  Wealthy people didn't like the idea of them and they were abundant and, then, easy picking for the poor.

Prawns are the Woodlice of the sea.

There are literally giant isopods on the Abyssal Plains.

Not sure what they taste like though.

Indeed, by weird coincidence I was reading an article about very similar recently and there were photos of little 1800s chimney sweep type kids with Lobsters of about equal size.  I had a hunt through my history, but couldn't find it.

Imagine coming home after a couple of sherbets and one of those scuttled across the toilet floor.😱  The mess would be messy

I stood on a frog once in a tropical outdoor bathroom.  That was pretty grim.

this looks like a Morton Bay Bug. They are native to Australia and believe they are similar to Lobster.
